Goethe-Zertifikat A1 (Start German 1) Exam Schedule
The official list below shows reserved time periods not confirmed exams. It is important to confirm with your instructor whether or not the final exam for a course will be held during this time period.
Make sure you read the Goethe exam rules and guidelines on each exam's page prior to registering. Make sure you register for the appropriate level of exam.
Locations
The Exam Schedule lists locations where DEP conducts operator certification tests. Please consult individual exam pages for additional guidelines, conditions and guidelines and exam information. If you need special accommodations due to chronic illness, hearing or visual impairment, or any other disability, contact the exam center and provide a detailed documents when you register.
The Faculty Dashboard in Workday offers an option to "View My Teaching Schedule" that allows faculty to discover their exam schedules. Additionally, the Registrar's Office has a list of exam times for courses that have exams required by NYSED regulations. For evening classes, final exams are scheduled during the regular class time during the week of exams.
Please be aware that this Projected University Examination Schedule should only be used as a reference. The dates for the final exam could alter.

Registration
The exam schedule is available online and students are advised to review it. It is important to note that the schedule for exams can change at any time. For this reason, students should consult their instructors to make sure they have the correct date and time for their test. Students should also make sure to print the official list and bring it for their exams.
In addition to the exam schedule, students should also familiarize themselves with the exam guidelines, the terms and conditions. These are available on the exam's individual page. Students acknowledge having read and accepted the terms and conditions of registration.
Exam sites try their best to accommodate those with special needs. The nature and degree of these needs should be noted on the registration form and confirmed by a doctor's attestation. The exam locations must also respect and maintain confidentiality.
If moved here is scheduled to take three exams scheduled on the same day, it is recommended to contact their instructor or department to arrange a make-up exam. Although it is possible to take three exams in one day, it can cause a high stress level and could impact the quality of the exam. Additionally, the professor might not be able to offer a makeup exam on a different day.
Students must go through their course material before taking the exam and practice their German skills. The test is a test on paper that assesses the ability to read, speak and write in German. The results of the examination are reported using a scale from A1 to C2. Students who succeed in passing the test are awarded the Goethe-Zertifikat. The certificate certifies the achievement of language level A1. This level corresponds with the first level of the six-level scale of competence set out in the Common European Framework of Reference for Foreign Languages. The exam is free of cost. Students must bring a valid government ID to the exam. If they do not present an ID with a valid photo will be disqualified from the examination.
Fees
You'll need to pay a fee for the examination if you wish to receive the Goethe-Zertifikat (start German 1) after you have completed your Elan Academy studies. This is in addition to the course fees.
Practice assessments give you an overview of the style of the questions, their wording and the difficulty of questions on the test. They allow you to assess your knowledge, spot gaps and increase your chances of passing the test.
Please note that the examination fee is not refundable. The results of the examination are only available via email, not via telephone.
